Dr. Judson Heitner
Dr. Heitner was raised in Wells, Minnesota. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Heitner continued at the U of M, first as a resident in the Advanced General Practice Residency program and then as a part-time instructor. He has continued his education by completing courses in infection control, CPR certification, cosmetic and restorative dentistry, occlusion, TMJ therapy, dental implants, and more.
Dr. Heitner is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association (where he currently serves on the Scientific Sessions Committee), and Minneapolis District Society. Dr. Heitner is also a member of the West Suburban Study Club and the Twin Cities Periodontics Study Club. He has attended the Center for Advanced Dental Study in St. Petersburg, Florida and completed training at the Great Lakes Education Center in the advanced technology of CAD/CAM (CEREC) dentistry for one-visit restorations and crowns. In 2011, he studied dental implantology at J.W. Goethe Universitat in Frankfurt, Germany.
Dr. Judd and his wife, Tracy, live in Eden Prairie. They have three children and enjoy golfing, fishing, and skiing.
Dr. Benjamin Fenger
Dr. Fenger grew up in Faribault, Minnesota. He attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in human biology. Dr. Fenger worked as a chemist for two years before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
After dental school, he completed an additional year of dental training through an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Fenger then served two years as an Air Force dentist at Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Minnesota Dental Association, and West Suburban Study Club. Dr. Fenger has also completed courses in infection control, CPR certification, advanced cardiac life support, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, dental implants, CAD/CAM dental restorations, endodontics, and more. He is board certified to administer conscious intravenous sedation. Dr. Fenger has also attended the Center for Advanced Dental Study in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Dr. Jeffrey Moos
Dr. Moos grew up in Eden Prairie. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and then completed the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Moos served three years in the United States Navy where he was stationed at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. While there, he completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency program.
Dr. Moos has also attended continuing education courses in orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, advanced esthetic dentistry, endodontics, and more. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Spear Comprehensive Dentistry Study Club, and West Suburban Study Club. He also studied at the Spear Education Center for Advanced Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dr. Moos enjoys many aspects of dentistry; however, the most rewarding are the personal relationships he develops with his patients and staff. He has a passion for providing the finest and most up-to-date treatment and therapy that dentistry has to offer.
Dr. Moos and his wife, Alyssa, live with their three children in Eden Prairie. His personal interests include spending time with family, camping, running, biking, and cross-country skiing with his Siberian husky. He and his wife also enjoy traveling locally and abroad.
Dr. James Watson
Dr. Watson is a native of Rochester, MN. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Watson furthered his dental education by entering an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. This program provided him advanced training in fixed (crown & bridge), removable (dentures), and implant dentistry. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the Spear Comprehensive Dentistry Study Club.
Dr. Watson is a fourth generation dentist following the footsteps of his great-grandpa, grandpa, and aunt. Additionally, his mother is a retired dental hygienist. Growing up surrounded by dentistry has taught Dr. Watson the importance of patient relationships. He strives to learn the desires of each patient and tailor his treatment to meet their unique needs so that they may keep all of their teeth for a lifetime.
When away from the office, Dr. Watson can be found bike riding, hiking, skiing, and wakeboarding. You may also find him attempting to play golf. Unfortunately, he has not been blessed with the Watson golf genes; they apparently all went to Tom and Bubba. He is also an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan. Go Big Red!
Dr. Watson is the “middle” child of a medical family. His oldest sister Jennifer is a veterinarian in Rochester. His sister Michelle is an optometrist at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis. Lastly, his identical twin brother is an ophthalmologist in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Cole Boerema
Dr. Boerema is a native Michigander, having grown up near Ann Arbor. After attending college at the University of Michigan, Cole and his wife Meg (a real Minnesotan) moved to Minnesota. Cole then completed his dental degree at the University of Minnesota. Throughout his career as a general dentist, Dr. Boerema has participated in a variety of continuing education courses, clubs, and mentorships.
Gaining personal relationships with patients and being able to take care of them over the years is something Dr. Boerema considers an honor. Patient comfort and patient education are important factors in his treatment planning. He believes in conservative treatment that incorporates the patient's input, values, and philosophies.
Dr. Boerema and his wife are frequent visitors to the bike trails, lakes, and coffee shops around the Twin Cities. The Boeremas have one son, and a Bernese mountain dog named Holmes. Dr. Boerema has recorded one hole-in-one, which he unfortunately does not consider an accurate reflection of his golfing ability.
Dr. Katherine Smith
While originally from Sioux Falls, SD, Dr. Smith came to the Twin Cities for college and completed her undergraduate studies in biochemistry and Spanish at the University of St. Thomas. From there, she moved to Iowa City, where she received both her dental degree as well as her post-doctoral degree in periodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. While in her residency, Dr. Smith completed a master's degree with a research project on the possible link between obesity and peri-implantitis.
Dr. Smith was drawn to periodontics because of her love for the surgical and artistic aspect of it, as well as the fact that it is very evidence-based. She is experienced in emerging technologies as they apply to periodontal management and implant dentistry. She particularly loves placing dental implants, esthetic crown lengthening procedures, gingival grafting, and surgically accelerated orthodontic cases. Dr. Smith is passionate about educating patients and helping them to improve their oral and systemic health.
Growing up with a dad who is also a dentist, Dr. Smith knew from an early age she wanted to pursue a dental career. With dentistry, she gets to have the time and energy to devote to her family while still pursuing her passion to serve and care for others. Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, and Midwest Society of Periodontology. She participates in as many continuing education courses as possible.
Outside of the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband (and Tommie sweetheart), Ian; daughter, Eva; and Shi-Tzu dog, Captain. They enjoy biking, going on family walks, and traveling to visit family and friends. Katie also loves to cook and read, when time allows!
